UFO & BLUE CHURCH TOUR
Jump on the red “Prešporáčik®” Oldtimer and try out the new addition to our portfolio of the Bratislava City Tours – the UFO & Blue Church Tour ! We begin our journey across the iconic Slovak National Uprising Bridge. The unique construction of the bridge consists of a cable-stayed system that hangs over the Danube without any supporting pillars in the water.
The journey continues to the largest exhibition center in Slovakia, “INCHEBA”. The exhibition grounds were intended to host specialized international chemical fairs, hence its name – IN for International, CHE for Chemical, and BA for Bratislava.
We’ll take you under the observation tower “UFO”, where you’ll have a 20-minute break to ride the elevator to a height of 95 meters, and enjoy a unique 360° view. From this you will be able to admire the historical Bratislava city center, “Kamzík” TV tower, “Slavín” memorial World War II., or try to see across the floodplain forests all the way to Austria. Visiting this building is a ‘must-see’ for every traveler visiting Bratislava.
The route continues past the “Leberfinger” restaurant, where Emperor Franz Joseph I and Napoleon Bonaparte once dined, and along “Janko Kráľ “ Park – the oldest public park that has always been the center of social and cultural life in the city.
During city tour the drive across the “Apollo” bridge, named after the former Bratislava refinery and the only European building to receive the prestigious Opal Awards in 2006, an impressive panorama of the Danube embankment will unfold before you. You´ll see everything from Bratislava Castle, the historic center, to the 21st-century buildings on “Bratislava’s Manhattan”. The modern district of the city with the first skyscraper in Slovakia, the new building of the Slovak National Theatre, “Eurovea” – shopping center, and “SKY PARK” connect the legacy of the past with the iconic structures of modern architecture.
Your journey will continue to the charming Blue Church, a pearl of the Secessionist architecture. This building is one of the most sought-after tourist attractions in Bratislava.
On “Šafárikovo” Square, we will show you the first Slovak university, the Comenius University, and then return along the waterfront to the headquarters of the Slovak Philharmonic and the historic building of the National Theatre, where our journey began and where it ends.
Tickets can be bought in our office “Panská“ Street 37, or at our selling stand in Hviezdoslav square (by the historical building of the Slovak National Theatre). In season also at the seller in “Rybné“ Square. If you are a bigger group, it is best to reserve your tour upfront for a certain time and date.
